My father has had a lump behind his ear for a few years but recently it has become bigger. maybe smaller than a golf ball. its is painless and cause no obvious symptoms. it is dark colored, sometimes bleeds with slight scabbing?

Your father needs to see a doctor so this can be examined so a diagnosis can be made. He should probably see a dermatologist (skin doctor) as soon as possible. If it is getting bigger, it may need to be removed and sent to the lab to make sure it is benign. Best of luck to both of you!
