Some apparently knowledgeable sources say testing needs to be done 3 months after possible exposure, that's true only for older HIV blood tests no longer use. With the HIV antigen-antibody (AgAB, "4th generation") tests, 45 days (which can be rounded to 6 weeks) is conclusive. Maybe a bit longer with HIV2, but that's too rare (in the US) to matter.
