The lead of a mechanical or other pencil is graphite, an inert substance that is non-toxic. You can scratch the skin surface and not penetrate deep enough to get bleeding, but the wound can still become infected. Keep it clean and monitor it as you would any wound. By itself, the posted description is not worrisome.
