Normal: Periods can last from a day to more than a week. If the severe cramping is a problem, follow up with a gynecologist. Ibuprofen is often helpful.

Pregnancy test: My dear, you need to take a pregnancy test. Any change in your menses (period) at all, could mean you're pregnant. Unfortunately, sometimes the cramping, while it could mean you're having a difficult period (dysfunctional uterine bleeding), it can also be a sign of miscarriage. Please see your Gyn to be certain.
