Yes it does : CT should be done with thin slice technique and without contrast. You will get some beautiful images

Usually: A contrast CT (CTA, CT angiogram) can be very helpful looking at the vessel and the walls for calcium or soft plaque. US is not very good up there due to the skull base. MRI does not see calcium well.
