I have had itching around the opening of my vagina off and on for several months now there is no change in discharge, no bumps that i can feel, and no change in coloration that i can tell it stops when i'm on my period?

Discuss with your gynecologist. Maybe yeast infection? Irritation or allergy from a vaginal hygiene product or perfume? Get STD tested if possibly at risk. Good luck.

Chronic vulvar itching is usually due to repeated contact to an irritant like soaps, personal hygiene products, wipes, or deodorants. Other causes include atopic dermatitis (eczema), lichen planus, or lichen sclerosus, but these are usually associated with a rash. Please follow up with your PCP or OB/GYN for a full evaluation.
