A member asked:

Hi, if someone else with oral herpes licks my nipples or skin anywhere, can she transmit herpes if there are no obvious signs on her lips. and what if she does have blisters inside her mouth that i cannot see?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Even when there is no visible signs of Oral herpes - even to her, she can transmit herpes but with no visible lesions that is almost never occurs. When there are blisters, transmission is more likely. Because of oral sex, the herpes near the genitals on many people are really oral herpes. Oral and genital herpes are two different viruses.
