Any type of stroke is serious, and hemorrhagic stroke has more serious consequences. Stroke doesn't give you pain but most classic symptoms to watch out for are slurring of speech, arm drooping, weakness of any extremities among others. Not always you lose consciousness in stroke. If you suspect someone is having it, best to call 911 or go to the ER for urgent evaluation

Although typically, the bleeding is focal and localized, on occasion can be rather massive, with invasion of ventricles and subarachnoid areas. Headaches can occur with varying intensity in these situations. Loss of consciousness is variable, and no hard rules can be expressed, but this may be a sign of brain herniation and imminent demise.
