A member asked:

I was treated from hpv warts on my vulva a few months ago, my doctor said it wouldn't spread any further. i'm just a bit concerned because before my treatment i used a menstrual cup for my period. is it likely that i could spread it that way?

Genital warts indeed can spread; or new warts can appear in areas that previously appeared normal. However, using a menstrual cup probably does not increase the chance of spread. Keep your eyes out for additional warts and have them treated if any appear. Get the HPV vaccine to lower your risk of new HPV infections. Vaccine also may reduce the chance of future warts or abnormal pap smear.
