What to expect: Typically the first two days aren't too bad. The worst days are the second and third after surgery. It then gradually improves so that at two weeks most of the pain is gone although it may take a month until it no longer hurts with sneezing, yawning, or opening widely. There is sometimes a little peak the 5-6 day postop as the scabs shed. When older it takes longer and is more intense.Control pain.
