A member asked:

I took a pregnancy test today and my mom said that she sees a faint line and i do to as well. i was wondering if there is a faint blue thin line that goes downwards to complete the cross. is that still positive or is it negative??

Since I have no way of looking at the test, I can’t say anything definitively. I would probably wait and either take the test again, or wait longer, and see if you have your normal monthly cycle. I, also, would think about engaging in safe sexual activity. Lastly, you are too young to be having a child, and thus having to see an OB-GYN.

Conception occurs within day or so of the sex. It takes about 3 weeks for the embryo to make enough HCG for a positive pregnancy test. Blood test may be done a day after a missed period. Home pregnancy tests should be done 4-5 days after the missed period. If the result is negative repeat the test in 4-5 days. Use first morning urine and follow instructions for the test carefully.
