A : A faint second line is possible if the HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) level is very low. This is generally due to a very early or failing pregnancy. There are a few other conditions that may cause a false positive pregnancy test but they are exceedingly rare. Do it again: You may be pregnant. Do another pregnancy test or see your doctor and get a blood sample.
