I think that it is definitely possible. Have you seen an Allergist or possibly an ENT.

Sinusitis and rhinitis can cause nasal congestion which can result in difficulty breathing. Also, rhinitis/sinusitis/allergies can cause bronchospasm which can cause shortness of breath as well. The treatments are different although sometimes treating both with nasal sprays as well as inhalers is needed to allow the breathing to get better. So, see your doctor for eval/treatment. Good luck!
