An accurate diagnosis of polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is treated with low dose oral bcp's, but missing some active bcp's can lead to withdrawal bleeding. Since ovulation (egg release) is usually absent with PCOS, taking the active bcp's "not at the same time" will not usually result in pregnancy, but take the active bcp's within the hour of the last active pill the day before.
