All "azole" treatments are inactive against most strains of Candida glabrata. If fluconazole (Diflucan) hasn't worked, miconazole (Monistat) also will be ineffective. But don't assume diflucan didn't work, unless your symptoms have not improved. Check with your doctor to confirm need for more treatment, perhaps with other types of drugs (like echinocandins, nystatin, etc). Good luck.
