A racing heart can be from other things than just anxiety, even though it just feels like anxiety. First of all, you need to find out why your heart is racing and need to see a doctor to figure it out. Some heart conditions or other medical conditions can cause this. It should not be ignored and best to make an appointment now. Once diagnosed and treated, then you can get back to exercise.

Yes, first confirm that you do not possess an underlying medical condition promoting tachycardia, such as hyperthyroidism, or cardiac disorder. If indeed a purely emotional issue, start Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and consider adding biofeedback, meditation, acupuncture, and aerobic exercise, along with basics. Best if you do avoid medications that are best used solely over a short time.
