Taking oral antibiotics by itself does not give you yeast infections or alter vaginal pH. It does kill off some of the bacteria in your digestive system and may kill some germs in the vaginal mucus. This can alter the balance of germs in your gut and allow yeast which are not killed by the med to reproduce faster. Vaginal contamination from your anus is a likely origin of vaginal yeast infection.
