It might be advantageous to have compromised teeth removed. Build up of bacteria from poor dentition, can affect your heart, yielding heart problems.

If you had an infection anywhere else in your body you would treat it. Failure to do so allows infection (bacteria) to spread via circulatory system to other organ systems. Morbidity/mortality risk rises dramatically the longer the infection goes untreated.
