2 months post root canal, and the tooth still has increased sensation. no pain, but if i tap the top or sides with my finger, i can still feel it more than with any other tooth. almost like a bruise. new xrays show all is good. is this normal?

Yes, quite normal. Sensitivity to pressure can last for a few months.
