Totality of exposure from your recent dental films is less than you would receive on an airplane flight, a day in the mountains, or 2 days on the beach. Your Dentist cannot be expected to work blind, thus the x-rays. And the risk to your health from dental (tooth/gum) infections is greater than from diagnostic x-rays.
