Little toe on the joint there is a tiny hard round ball which moves but seems to be attached to the the joint. the little toe has formed a small callus which i thought was why my little toe hurt?

It very well could be the cause of your pain. The callus is a response to pressure from shoes. The callus will form cause pain as it increase in size. Callus is a response to pressure. Take away pressure , callus will not comeback. Try changing shoes.
