Tongue lumps: The lumps on the side of the tongue are taste buds and are larger than the ones on the top of the tongue. The burning can be due to a number of causes the first is dry mouth. I recommend that you ask your dentist to evaluate your tongue and review your breathing habits along with a review of your health history including medications you may presently be taking.

Need examination: You may have a sensitivity to certain foods, possible the acids in tomatoes or the ketchup. But there are also many other reasons for your reaction to some foods. It is best to see a dentist , oral surgeon or oral medicine specialist for an evaluation.
