A member asked:

Can shortness of breath due the accelerated idioventricular rythym cause hyperinflated lungs?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hyperinflated lungs require chronic bronchial obstruction of some type, like bronchial asthma or chronic bronchitis, to develop. Cardiac arrhythmias, whether bradycardic or tachycardic, even with chronic dyspnea won't affect lung aeration & cause changes such as seen in pulmonary emphysema.
