It sounds like you have acute bronchitis-the taste could be due to the airway secretions. You should get in touch with your doctor and you may need to be seen and examined to determine if you need an antibiotic. If you smoke, you really need to quit and your doc can help with this as well. You also may have bronchospasm and an inhaler may be needed to get rid of the cough. So, see your doctor.
