Disadvantage?: Disadvantage is a relative term, meaning: you have to compare to something else. Compared to what? Do you maybe mean what are risks of ivf? Can you be more specific what you want to know?

Risk: The long and short term risks associated with ivf are few. The short term are related to the stimulation and retrieval. If you have lots of eggs, you may develop ohss and have weight gain and bloating that gets very uncomfortable and sometimes may cause some risks. The retrieval risks are infection, and damage to pelvic structures but occur in < 1/1000 cases. Few long term risks.
