For about a week now, when i touch (even gently) on the right side of my head or lay i get really bad headaches on just that side. its has gotten much worse and wakes me up a night and mornings are miserable. why is this?

It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. It is unlikely at your age, but temporal arteritis needs to be excluded. Alternatively, it may be a form of migraine. It would be prudent to see a doctor. Wish you good health!
