A member asked:

An mri dated july 2020 of my brain stated that there is "nonspecific punctate foci of t2 signal in the cerebral white matter bilaterally". what does this mean? i had this mri done for headache, fatigue and cognitive issues when i was 25 years old?

These may be insignificant but some of the literature suggests you MAY be at increased risk for cognitive decline as you get older. If a neurologist reviews the MRI study they should be able to speak to this in more detail.

Not unique to find such non-diagnostic and "nonspecific" findings. Clinical correlation with migraine, smoking, prior injuries, use of recreational drugs, demyelinating disorders, etc., may represent a few of the potential causes. Now that close to 3 years have passed, it appears that these films failed to predict a catastrophic medical condition.
