A member asked:

My grandmother had ovarian cancer at age 50. she had 3 daughters, none with cancer. there are no other cancers in my family on any side. is my risk higher ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Your risk is probably no higher than that for the general population. You can reduce your risk of cancer by adopting healthy habits: Eat a mostly vegetarian diet, avoid alcohol, tobacco and street drugs, avoid excessive exposure to sun, maintain healthy weight, get HPV vaccine, exercise 30 minutes each day, drink enough water so your urine is mostly colorless. Wish you good health!
