A member asked:

Can candida survive outside the body?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Candida is a ubiquitous yeast that can be found in the environment in dust, open surfaces, etc. It is found in the gut of most animals and humans, thought to represent up to 5% of our dry stool weight. In many it has a benign coexistence much of the time but can spread into areas and cause an infection.
