Gingivitis is not "deadly" or otherwise dangerous. Most cases clear up with improved dental hygiene (frequent brushing, flossing, etc). Sometimes an antibiotic may be recommended. Presumably this has been diagnosed by your dentist or doctor, right? Follow the advice you were given. Good luck.

Gingivitis will not kill you. Gingivitis can progress to periodontitis. Periodontitis can result in loss of teeth. See a local dentist for an exam and treatment.

Periodontal (gum) disease has been implicated in stroke, heart attack, kidney disease, low birth weight/premature births, and so forth. 40%of children under age 10 have been found to have gum disease. Statistically not involved in deaths in young healthy males. Can cause permanent architectural gum alterations. See your General Dentist or gum specialist Periodontist for appropriate remediation.
