A member asked:

What is considered social isolation?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Social isolation means being cut off from social contacts and social supports .It can also be due to the need for physical distancing and sheltering in place ,as happened during the early days of the Covid19 pandemic . It can lead to loneliness and many emotional and mental problems ,especially in teenagers .So it is important to find new ways to connect, like online get togethers ,zoom etc .
