Had an ecg in feb 2022 for chest pain. revealed trace regurgitation in mitral and tricuspid. how long would it take for regurgitation to develop into mild or severe and become a problem?

Any regurgitation through the mitral or tricuspid valves will increase the work of the ventricles, and gradually increase depending on the daily exertion and increased heart rate during same. See a cardiology physician for guidance.
