72 years old lady had left shoulder pain and red spots (sort of rashes) on left arm as well. things are now sort of back to normal after 3 days what possibly could have caused it?

Herpes zoster ( shingles) comes to mind but the chickenpox type eruption takes more time to resolve. If there are residual eruptions visible, a physician could make the diagnosis and recommend antiviral medication if deemed advisable.
