A member asked:

A couple of times in the last few months, i've gotten up at night and my legs collapsed when i got out of bed. felt weak & took about 5 minutes and several tries to make them work again so i could stand. only happens at night. what could cause this?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Apparently this never happens during days. If severe lightheadedness didn't cause you to collapse,I'd attribute the cause to decreased muscle tone in your legs during deep sleep. When getting out of bed during sleeping times, sit up at the edge of the bed for a minute or two before standing up.
