A member asked:

Do statins , beta blockers and ace inhibitors have a role in mitral valve prolapse ? if patient is experiencing nsvt and frequent pvcs at which point is surgery typcsllly indicated and these medications ?

Beta blockers may help suppress ventricular irritability for you, but amiodarone or sotalol are often more effective but reserved for serious arrythmias. I wouldn't think statins or ACE inhibitors would contribute anything in your case. I'm uncertain that operating on mitral valve prolapse would prevent PVCs or NSVT episodes. An electrophysiologist cardiologist would be best to advise you
