Concerta or methylphenidate is a CNS stimulant similar to amphetamines, a controlled substance, commonly prescribed for ADHD and narcolepsy. It helps with focus, attention, and concentration. It prevents norepinephrine and dopamine from being uptaken at the presynaptic cleft, therefore theoretically increasing use of those neurotransmitters
