A member asked:

Ive recently started vaping.im a smoker and smoke a little less than a pack a day on average.vaping has made me cut down the cigarettes to about 7-10 a day.i know that vaping comes with its own risks, but is this progress in your book as a doctor?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No. Vaping nicotine products actually doses you with as much or more drug than cigarettes. Your addiction centers in your brain are more active in males up to age 25 or so and cutting down is admirable. However, a gradual wean using gum is more likely to get you off and lower your risks.
