The HIV virus is a blood to blood transfer for a positive test. Since no cut occurred ,an instrument that could have contained an HIV residue that was just used on a possible customer, than no blood to blood event happened. The virus can last several days on objects, but usually dries up in several hours. In future ask and see if instruments used on you or family have been sterilized.

HIV cannot be transmitted in above presented scenario. Would suggest addressing your HIV related anxiety with your primary care doc. A psychologist may be needed as well.

Your risk of getting HIV from the incident is near zero. You may get a 4th combo test 6 weeks after the incident, for your peace of mind.
