The ratio of neutrophil to lymphocyte is called NLR, a bio marker. Normal level is 1-2and over 3 is considered abnormal and is higher in males and elderly over 85 .The neutrophil response is an immediate immune response to infections and non infectious stimuli the lymphocyte response is an adaptive immune response .NLR can be used to monitor heart disease stroke kidney disease and cancer .
