I have genital hsv 1, i was given mupirocin ointment by an obgyn in 2019 for treatment. i do not have insurance, and this is all i have for treatment, i just want to make sure it's safe for use inside the affected area, and how to use it?

If you have some of this it is likely out of date, but may be helpful in preventing common skin germs from starting a skin infection in the disrupted area. It does not treat the herpetic eruption. It is usually applied 2x/day .
