I suffer from ibs-d, i saw that we can take loperamide hydrochloride as an otc for flare ups, how often can i take and how much dose and how much is too much? can i combine it with mebeverine hydrochloride?

Your doctor should recommend your dosage. You can choose and schedule a doctor on HealthTap! Usual dose of loperamide is 2 mg after the first loose stool, then 1 mg after each subsequent loose stool, up to a max of 8 mg per day. Taking too much can cause constipation, abdominal pain, bloating, and more. Mebeverine (an anti spasmodic not avail in US) is generally safe with loperamide.
