The average age of true menopause is 54, but with no periods for "15 months", menopause may have occurred earlier. Obtain a serum test for FSH, and if the FSH level is over 10, the chances for ovulation are rare. If you are having "hot flashes" and emotional responses in excess of what is normal for you, ask your GYN about low dose oral bcp's to reduce symptoms.
