A member asked:

Echo said mild pulmonary hypertension: mild left ventricle hypertrophy , trace mitral valve regurgitation . tricuspid pressure 2.8. aortic vave: no regurgitation mild pulmonic regurgitation. pcp ordered sleep apnea study. is this a serious diagnosis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Increase in pulmonary artery pressure is often secondary to pulmonary disorders including sleep apnea. Some regurgitation through the pulmonic valve is caused by pulmonary artery hypertension. All your listed findings appear mild, however. Your PCP is on the right path. He/she will refer you to a proper specialist when advisable. Treatment of any hypertension will prevent further LV hypertrophy
