This is not unusual as long as it is transient. The heart muscle works harder when you're supine than when you're sitting or standing and adjusts on first lying flat but then normalizes rather quickly. Rapid heart rate combined with chest pain or shortness of breath would be worrisome though & would warrant investigation by your MD.
