My mom (86yo) has been on klonopin long-term. she ran out of klonopin 2 days ago, and most likely can't get a refill until monday. i have lorazepam 0.5 mg or diazepam 5 mg, can she take one of these until then? she is having heightened anxiety?

It's not advisable to substitute one benzodiazepine for another. In this case I would seek advice from her prescribing physician who knows her case thoroughly.

At this public education site, we do not diagnose, prescribe, treat, manage patients. At HT, we do not prescribe controlled substances. Do not try to manage benzodiazepines on your own. Contact her doctor now!
