There is data....: To suggest that extracts from lupin may lower the hepatic synthesis of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (aka g6pd), which theoretically might exacerbate the deficiency state in folks with a constitutional deficiency. Patients must still avoid ingestion of oxidant stressor foods and medications. More common side effects from lupin bean ingestion are anticholinergic (dry mouth/eyes, fatigue, etc. ).
