Ketones will appear in the urine from the breakdown of fat cells which are common after periods of fasting. They show up in diabetics when the body cells are breaking down fat for energy. Just because you have ketones doesn't mean you are diabetic. If concerned, simple teats are available to confirm or exclude the diagnosis.

It would be prudent to have your fasting plasma glucose tested by an accredited laboratory. An alternative would be to get A1c level which does not require fasting.
