Confusing question. No meningitis persists 9 years: do you maybe mean meningioma (a benign brain tumor)? That abnormality is entirely different than "small vessel disease". It usually is unwise for patient who are not health professionals themselves to try to interpret the findings of their tests without doctor advice, especially complex ones like MRI. I too think that you have confused a meningioma with "meningitis". Your "small vessel disease" is most likely consistent with microvascular angiopathy, which would be expected at age 80, and is a sign of "hardening of the arteries".
