Recovery after any surgical procedure and anesthesia can drive the heart rate up for a transient period. This adds the free flow of blood to assist healing. I would consult your doc if this persists more than a few days, or if the idea has really spooked you.

Not drinking and eating prior to surgery can result in dehydration and that can raise the heart rate. Drink enough water so that your urine is mostly colorless to ensure proper hydration. Wish you good health!
