A member asked:

If a person has high blood pressure for years but doesn't have any aneurysm does he still has a chance of a artery rupture if he maintains normal blood pressure does the chances fall and can the vessels come back to its original strength?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Persistent uncontrolled hypertension does predispose one to rupture of blood vessels with or without presence of aneurysms. Reduction and control of blood pressure ( to 130/80 or lower) will reduce chance of arterial rupture, especially at your age as your arteries wouldn't have been stressed for many years such as occurs in older subjects.
